Soundmix is proud to be working with Refugee Council, one of our longest running projects.
We provide weekly music workshops to the young unaccompanied refugees that the Refugee Council work with in Croydon.
Many of the clients aren’t in education, so the classes take place during the day alongside their English, maths, and IT lessons.
Working in small groups with our musician tutors, our young people have the opportunity to learn guitar, percussion and keyboard skills. Through our sessions we help our young people connect with one another and collaborate. Each term the young people work as a group to prepare a performance.
Participants are offered the chance to complete an arts award accreditation, and we also offer an advanced class at a local recording studio for those who want to stretch themselves and experience playing in a band.
